I haven't had one specific inspiration or reason why I wanted to become a teacher. It is something I have always known I have wanted to do. I have loved being around children of all ages and have always thought of teaching as something enjoyable rather than a tedious task. So not having a specific inspiration but rather a combination of many things has lead me to want to teach and direct others.
I have always had a nurturing way about me. I grew up always around kids. My grandparents had a daycare growing up and I always wanted to help with the kids and teach them new things. I grew up with my younger sister always looking up to me and do thing just as I did. With these things I had instilled in me at a young age that I wanted to be a positive role model for those that looked up to me.
Most students throughout their schooling either love or hate school and I think that teachers play a great role in this attitude. I personally have always loved my teachers which made me like school. I was always good a science and math and those teachers had a positive inspiring effect on my successful schooling. They always have directed me in positive directions that helped me get to where I am today.
With becoming a teacher it takes a great deal of leadership and confidence. My rowing career has helped in my added inspiration in becoming a teacher. I have been a coxswain on my respective rowing teams since I was 11. At such a young age I have had to take responsibly, direct and teach rowers of all skill levels and be confident and calm in stressful situations. With a combination of all these things it has really directed me in the right path to wanted to become teacher. My many coaches have always been positive role models for me and have trusted and helped me build up all the skills I needed to become a successful coxswain which can be directly related into becoming a successful teacher. Without the trust and positive pressure my coaches put on me I would not have had the confidence or will to want to continue my teaching path.
With the combination of positive role models, life experiences and natural will and desire to want to help and direct others in positive directions has helped in inspiring me in wanting to become a teacher.
